1. Service Overview
Tale Town operates a community-based book rental platform. Members may:
- Browse available books
- Place rental orders online
- Pick up books from the designated community library desk
- Return books within the specified rental period
All rentals are subject to availability and community guidelines.
2. Rental Period & Due Date
- The rental period begins based on pickup timing:
- Same-day pickup → rental starts that day.
- Next-day pickup → rental starts the next day.
- Pickup after next day → rental still starts from the next day after order placement.
- Due dates are calculated accordingly and displayed in your order status.
3. Late Fee Policy
A late fee of ₹2 per day per book is charged after the due date until the book is returned.
The final delay fine is calculated at the time of return.
4. Pickup Rules
Books must be collected:
- Between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM
- From the designated community pickup point
- Upon showing order confirmation (QR code or order number)
Failure to collect the book does not pause the rental timer.
5. Returns
Books must be returned to the same community library desk. Books must be returned in the condition received.
Damaged or lost books may result in additional charges.
6. User Responsibility
You agree:
- To provide accurate account details.
- To handle rented books responsibly.
- Not to misuse, reproduce, or distribute rented materials unlawfully.
7. Modification of Service
Tale Town reserves the right to modify rental rules, fees, and policies with notice.
8. Limitation of Liability
Tale Town operates as a community initiative and is not liable for indirect or incidental damages arising from use of the service.
